Ice skating at the Nymphenburger Channel in Neuhausen is very popular. The artificial river is located very central and is easy to reach. There you can borrow some ice skates for around 2,00€ at a small distributer. Again you can buy hot cinnamon scented wine or just a simple hot choclate and start your journey on the ice. This place is very beginner friendly and there are mostly families with their children. So don’t worry about your skating skills, because most oft he people here are beginners.
To get there you take the U1 to Rotkreuzplatz and then you take the Metro number 12 until Romanplatz. From there it’s a 5 minute walkt o the castle and the channel.

Hostel Munich – Zoo 365 days opened

The zoo Hellabrunn located at the Isar is opened during the winter months, too. And you might not know that but most tropical animals don’t care about the cold temperatures and the snow. Only the bears and prarie dogs can’t be seen because they are hibernating. The chimpanzees and turtles prefer the warm tropical huts, located all around the zoo. Andi f you get too cold just visit the monkeys or take a look at the aquarium and marine life. The only downside ist he lack of Harambe but we can make up for that with a broad variety of animals that are still observable even during winter.

As you can see there are a lot of activities you can do during the cold months. So why not spending your witerholidays here instead of coming fort he Oktoberfest. And there’s another positive side on that. Planetickets are much cheaper than in the summer months. So pay us a visit and enjoy munich during winter!
