The Wiesn 2026 – What to Expect
The 191st Oktoberfest runs from 19 September to 4 October 2026. On the Theresienwiese festival grounds you can look forward to around 40 large and small beer tents, beer from Munich's six traditional breweries, and countless Bavarian treats. The festival opens traditionally on the first Saturday at noon with the keg tapping in the Schottenhamel tent and the famous cry of "O'zapft is!".
Beer Tents & Beer
Whether it's a grand beer hall or a cosy smaller tent – every festival tent has its own character. Only Munich beer is served, in the traditional one-litre Maß. Tip: for evenings and weekends it's worth making a table reservation through the individual tents.
Rides & Family Days
Over 100 rides and attractions keep the energy high – from classic carousels to high-tech coasters. Tuesdays are family days with reduced prices at many stalls and rides (generally until 7 pm).
Theresienwiese Outside the Oktoberfest Season
The Theresienwiese is well worth a visit beyond the Oktoberfest: throughout the year it hosts other folk festivals such as the Frühlingsfest (spring festival). Above the grounds stand the monumental Bavaria statue and the Ruhmeshalle – a rewarding viewpoint over the entire festival site.
